DEATH FEAST OPEN AIR - 2010 Festival Video Documentary Online

The 2010 DEATH FEAST OPEN AIR festival video documentary is now available on YouTube.

Filmed by HEAVY METAL HOME TV and originally produced for a DVD release, the documentary features almost two hours of live performances, interviews and festival impressions. Due to licencing and monetary issues, the DVD plans had to be abandoned.

The Death Feast Open Air 2010 DVD can be pre-ordered now. Almost 2 hours of playing time, performance clips of e.g. Dying Fetus, Hail Of Bullets, Waco Jesus, Suffocation and Lock Up, fan videos - the whole DFOA 2010 package!  

As an extra bonus, the DVD includes a 30 min. special from DFOA 2011, filmed by Heavy Metal Home TV. The cover artwork comes from Killustrations (a.o. Dew Scented, Hackneyed, Nervecell, The Very End).

"Eigentlich kannte ich DEUS INVERSUS gar nicht. Es war der erste Festival Tag vom Death Feast 2011. Es regnete, es war kalt und die Stimmung im grauen Licht und dem matschigen Boden erinnerte irgendwie an einen Endzeitfilm. Da stand dieser Typ -Dmitriy- auf der Bühne. Er rauchte und fragte die Leute vor der Bühne, ob sie bereit wären für seine Show. Mit den Worten "dann nehme ich mein Gewehr" schnappte er sich seinen Bass und dann ging es los mit Klängen, die an alte Morbid Angel erinnerten. Mit so was hatte ich auf dem Death Feast echt nicht gerechnet. Hier ist man ja eher ultra brutale oder verstörende Klänge gewohnt, aber bei Deus Inversus war authenthischer Old School Death Metal angesagt. Vielleicht sieht Dmitriy seine Musik anders, aber ich habe mich auf angenehme Weise an frühen 90er Death Metal erinnert gefühlt. Eindrucksvoll haben Deus Inversus bewiesen, dass sie ihre Instrumente bestens beherrschen. Grund genug Dmitriy nach der Show mal für ein Interview zu schnappen.

Und was soll ich sagen? Dmitriy hat echt interessante Geschichten auf Lager. Ich als in Freiheit aufgewachsener Mensch kann mir echt nicht vorstellen, wie es "damals" (frühe 90er) in Russland abging. Seht und hört selbst."

death feast open air - BLASPHEMER to replace SEPTYCAL GORGE, DEVOURMENT forced to cancel

SEPTYCAL GORGE had to cancel their performance at DFOA 2011 for occupational reasons. BLASPHEMER from Italy are going to replace them on the same slot (Thursday, 06/23/2011, 15:30-16:00)! 

DEVOURMENT withdrew from DFOA 2011 yesterday. Commented vocalist Mike Majewski: "Devourment's cancellation of the Deathfeast show was due to several unexpected circumstances that really forced us to cancel. In all of our years as a band, we have very rarely had to cancel a show we had booked. It was a last resort and I want to stress that it is of no fault to the promoters of Deathfeast, nor a lack of passion to play on our part. It's unfortunate but, provided they ask us back, we will definitely be back for future Deathfeast festivals." A replacement for the band has not been announced yet.
