FLOTSAM AND JETSAM And HIRAX's Metal Apocalypse European Tour Canceled

Jeff Keller Management LLC, the management company for FLOTSAM AND JETSAM and HIRAX, has announced that due to circumstances beyond the bands' and management’s control, the Metal Apocalypse European tour that was scheduled to feature both artists has been canceled.

Says Jeff Keller: "Unfortunately, it was in both bands' best interest to not continue with the tour at this time. We apologize to the fans for this unfortunate circumstance, and I can assure the fans that both bands will be in Europe in 2014 for other touring and festival appearances."

FLOTSAM AND JETSAM recently returned to Metal Blade Records to release their new album, Ugly Noise. Ugly Noise is FLOTSAM AND JETSAM's eleventh full-length album, their first release on Metal Blade since 2001 and the follow-up to their 2010 album, The Cold.

FLOTSAM AND JETSAM Has Returned To Metal Blade Records

Via Metal Blade Records

FLOTSAM AND JETSAM, arguably one of the most influential and prominent acts from thrash metal's birth in the early 80's, has returned to Metal Blade Records to release their new album, Ugly Noise, on April 16, 2013.

You can now listen to the title track at metalblade.com/flotsamandjetsam.

Ugly Noise is the band’s eleventh full-length album, their first release on Metal Blade since 2001, and the follow up to their 2010 album, The Cold. The record also heralds the return of original members Michael Gilbert on guitar and Kelly David Smith on drums, who haven’t recorded with Flotsam and Jetsam since High in 1997.

Flotsam and Jetsam’s Kelly Smith comments on working with Metal Blade: “We have just inked a distribution deal for the release of Ugly Noise through Metal Blade Records. Ugly Noise will be released worldwide in late March / early April of 2013. It was the obvious choice for us after our long-standing relationship and Metal Blades 30 year history of metal. You can’t match what they can do with 30 years of experience behind them. We are excited and looking forward to working with MB in 2013.”

Also, tune into Liquid Metal on SiriusXM this week for a Flotsam and Jetsam interview & Liquid Metal Takeover! Kelly Smith, Eric AK and Michael Gilbert stop by the SiriusXM NYC studios to talk to Jose Mangin about their new album, Ugly Noise, and their current comeback tour with Testament and Overkill. After the hour interview special, the guys host a Liquid Metal Takeover picking out their go-to metal songs.

ONSLAUGHT Announce Album Release Date And European Tour

UK thrashers ONSLAUGHT have announced September 13, 2013 as the worldwide release date for their sixth studio album.

The follow-up to 2011's Sounds Of Violence will once again be recorded, mixed and co-produced by Jacob Hansen at Hansen Studios, Denmark. Recording sessions are set to commence on May 18 and the album will be released via AFM Records.

Commented Onslaught guitarist Nige Rockett: "It's awesome to be making another album with Jacob Hansen. There was never gonna be anyone else considered, simply because of the way Jacob works on a personal level and the incredible dynamics of his final mixes. We just know it's gonna be totally immense.

The writing is 90% complete and it's sounding very, very cool. I'm not gonna say it's 'louder, faster, heavier’ than anything we've ever done because that's a little bit cliché these days. All I will say is that it's very fresh, it's old school and it's ferocious. The rest we'll leave up to you guys to decide."

Onslaught will headline the first SLAUGHTERFEST across Europe in October, with German cult thrashers EXUMER, M-PIRE OF EVIL and death metal legends MASTER completing the bill.

Fans will have the opportunity to take part in meet-and-greet events on selected dates.

SODOM And EXUMER Drop Out Of Monsterfest Colombia

German / U.S. thrashers SODOM and EXUMER have dropped out of Monsterfest Colombia in Bogotá for breach of contract by the promoter.

The shows were scheduled for Saturday, January 26. See Sodom's statement at this location (Spanish only). Here's Exumer's official statement regarding their cancellation of Monsterfest Colombia:
"To all our Colombian fans and friends:

We wanted to inform you today, with the deepest regret, that we will not be appearing at the Monsterfest show on January 26, 2013 in Bogotá / Colombia!

The promoters of this show approached us last year and asked us if we would like to partake in this epic event. We instantly agreed, without any hesitation, to play at this truly unique event alongside our dear friends from TANKARD and SODOM.

We and the promoters of this show reached an agreement about the conditions for this show that we held up until the very last minute. Unfortunately the promoters did not do the same and not only did they lie to us, but they lied to you, the fans, as well. The promoters sent us everything from fake flight reservations to unverifiable money transfers, making it impossible for us to travel to Colombia while we still heavily promoted this show on the internet.

EXUMER is not responsible for any of this and we want to let you know that we will come and play for you anytime an honest local promoter is willing to take the time and the effort to bring us to Colombia.

Again, we are extremely sorry for all of this, but be assured that the band had nothing to do with the shortcomings of the promoters of Monsterfest, who appear to be liars and swindlers of the worst caliber. We hope that their shameful actions will not cause you any monetary damages, as they have caused us time and effort.

Thank you for all your loyal support over all these years and we will meet hopefully soon! \m/
Mem, Ray, Tony, Matthias and H.K."

SODOM, TANKARD And EXUMER To Play Monsterfest Colombia

German thrash masters SODOM, TANKARD and EXUMER have been confirmed to play at Monsterfest in Bogota/Colombia on January 26, 2013.

This is EXUMER’s first trip to Colombia and the start of their 2013 touring schedule, which will take EXUMER through Europe in February/March and to North America in April/May.

Commented vocalist Mem V. Stein: "It's an honor for us to finally travel to Colombia and play for our fans there. We were quite sad that we were unable to visit Colombia during our SOUTH AMERICAN DAMNATION TOUR, earlier in May/June this year. Hence, we were very excited when we were asked to join forces with our friends from SODOM and TANKARD and to play at Monsterfest. This will be no doubt an epic event and something to remember for a long time to come."

EXUMER released their latest album, Fire & Damnation, in April of this year. The album, described by Bloody Disgusting as a "blistering, arcing, glorious moshfest", is the band's third full length release and first since 1987's Rising From The Sea. EXUMER's debut album, Possessed By Fire, holds exalted status in the thrash underground as being one of the best releases of its era. And now, in 2012, EXUMER has returned to the stage, many years wiser, and as electrifying as ever.

Vocalist Mem Von Stein addresses the fans: "It's been a wild ride for the past 27 years since we first formed the band, and it's been even a crazier ride for the past 4 since we decided to reform EXUMER

But here we are, stronger and wiser, and still with the same mission in mind: to create some of the most intense thrash metal on the planet! It's been a long wait for us and for you, the fans, but we hope the wait was well worth it!

Our first album in 25 years drops in Germany today - where the ride began in 1985 -, and also in Austria and Switzerland. As always we want to thank you for standing with us throughout all these years!

EXUMER Launch 2nd Single “Vermin Of The Sky” Via Metal Hammer Germany

German Thrashers EXUMER are all set for the release of their long awaited comeback album Fire & Damnation!

Metal Hammer Germany is now exclusively premiering the second single 'Vermin Of The Sky'. Surf over to metal-hammer.de and stream the song HERE!

Comments EXUMER singer Mem V. Stein: "Vermin of the Sky is a perfect example of how we maintained a very 1980s song writing approach, incorporating catchy hooks and a memorable breakdown that is reminiscent of our work from the 80s.

I tried to use strong imagery throughout the record and this track is inspired by the consequences of last year´s earthquake and subsequent tsunami that almost caused a complete fall-out at the Fukushima nuclear plant in Japan. The Vermin of the Sky refers to the radiation and other airborne dangers that we are exposed to, not only in emergency zones, but also in our daily lives."

Fire & Damnation is set to be unleashed April 6 Germany / Austria / Switzerland, April 9 Rest of Europe, April 10 North America via Metal Blade RecordsFire & Damnation will be released as a limited Digipak-CD including three bonus tracks as well as on vinyl. Get the free download of the Fire & Damnation title track, see the album trailer and pre-order the album at this location!

EXUMER are: Matthias Kassner - Drums, H.K. - Guitars,
Mem V. Stein - Vocals, Ray Mensh - Guitars, T. Schiavo - Bass

EXUMER recorded their first new album in 25 years with renowned producer Waldemar Sorychta (Grip Inc., Therion, Sodom, Moonspell, etc.) at the helm. The 10-track strong, hard-hitting CD Fire & Damnation combines a punishing production with aggressive song writing. EXUMER manages to capture the intensity and feel of the 1980s thrash metal gems and yet sound up to date on their latest output.

Fire & Damnation will catapult EXUMER back in the forefront of the international music markets and the following live assaults in 2012; will only further cement the band’s cult status among the ranks of classic thrash metal acts in the world!

Tom Angelripper of SODOM loves the album and comments “This is how “real” thrash is meant to sound. The production is flawless and crystal clear. I'd dare to say that I like this album even better than their older material and think it’s more innovative, even though I am deeply rooted in the old school. I am really surprised! It reminds me a lot of DESTRUCTION and EXODUS, but they've managed to create their own unique style. Thumbs up to you, gents!”
