DIPSOMANIA - 25th Anniversary Show In Ruhr Area Hometown Tonight

Ruhr Area thrashers DIPSOMANIA (feat. EXUMER / CROSSPLANE drummer and House of Drums owner, Matthias Kassner) gonna celebrate their 25th anniversary at a show in their hometown of Dorsten, Germany tonight.

Support comes from grindcore old hands PROVOCATION, who’ll play their one and only show in 2013 on the occasion of their mates anniversary, and CAGE.

The entire show’s gonna be multi-tracked to be made available for streaming later on.

Reunited DARKNESS To Play First Show In New Line-Up This Saturday

Legendary reunited thrashers DARKNESS from Altenessen, Germany are about to play the first show in their reformed new line-up - at Ages Of Metal Festival in Oostrozebeke, Belgium this Saturday, September 28!

Out of the three albums DARKNESS had released from 1987 to 1989, especially their debut Death Squad is commonly regarded as a genre classic and serves as a blueprint for Thrash Metal to the day.

DARKNESS celebrated their 25th anniversary at the cathedral of Teutonic Thrash, Essen-Altenessen’s Zeche Carl, in December 2012 and announced the band’s official reunion this summer. 

The new line-up features a household name: KREATOR bassist Christian “Speesy” Giesler. Commented Speesy: “There’s just two bands I’d like to play music with - KREATOR and DARKNESS.”

Joining original DARKNESS members Arnd (now vocals) and Lacky (drums) are also former JAPANISCHE KAMPFHÖRSPIELE guitarist Bony and guitarist Mike (TRAPPED INSANITY).

DEATH ANGEL - Lyric Video For The Dream Calls For Blood Title Track

San Francisco Bay Area Thrash veterans DEATH ANGEL have released a lyric video for the title track of their upcoming new album, The Dream Calls For Blood. The album will be released on October 11 in Germany, October 14 in the UK / Europe and October 15 in North America via Nuclear Blast Records.

The follow-up to 2010's Relentless Retribution was recorded at Audiohammer Studios in Sanford, Florida with producer Jason Suecof (TRIVIUM, AUGUST BURNS RED, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, ALL THAT REMAINS, WHITECHAPEL, DEVILDRIVER), and once again features cover art by Brent Elliot White (JOB FOR A COWBOY, CARNIFEX, WHITECHAPEL).

Directed by Roy Warner who worked on both the From The Cradle To The Grave and Point Of No Return clips, the tune comes by way of the recently unleashed Unnatural Selection full-length and addresses the eight stages of genocide: classification, symbolization, dehumanization, organization, polarization, preparation, extermination and denial.

Released earlier this year via Candlelight Records, Unnatural Selection was produced by Terry Date (PANTERA, OVERKILL) and mastered by James Murphy (TESTAMENT, DEATH).

SUICIDAL ANGELS - Conquering Europe Tour 2014

Greek thrashers SUICIDAL ANGELS will set out for the Conquering Europe headlining tour in January / February 2014, presenting the band’s new and fifth album, Divide And Conquer.

The album, due January 10, 2014, has again been recorded with RD Liapakis in Germany, mixing duties will be handled by Fredrik Nordström (Arch Enemy, At The Gates, Dark Tranquillity a.o.). The cover artwork comes from grandmaster Ed Repka (e.g. Megadeth, Possessed, Death), who also designed the previous SUICIDAL ANGELS album covers for Dead Again and Bloodbath.

The excellent tour package of new generation Thrash Metal bands is gonna be completed by Californians FUELED BY FIRE (new album Trapped In Perdition), Finns LOST SOCIETY (debut album Fast Loud Death) and Greek newcomers EXARSIS (new album Brutal State).

TESTAMENT - Rise Up Performance Clip From Dark Roots Of Thrash DVD

Dark Roots Of Thrash, a DVD/2CD release documenting Bay Area veterans TESTAMENT's sold-out headlining performance at the Paramount in Huntington, New York this past February, will be made available on October 11 (Europe) and October 15 (North America) via Nuclear Blast Records.

It captures a total of 19 live tracks with countless cams onstage and high above the audience, plus a special moshpit cam that makes you feel like you're a part of the show. A performance clip of the song Rise Up, taken from Dark Roots Of Thrash, can be seen here:

Dark Roots Of Thrash was produced by Get Hammered Productions, directed by Tommy Jones (DEATH ANGEL, KATAKLYSM, SOILWORK) and mixed by Juan Urteaga (VILE, EXODUS, SADUS, MACHINE HEAD).

OBITUARY fans rejoice! The legendary death metal band have been locked away for the last few weeks inside their Redneck Studios working on their upcoming album and they’ve got twelve new songs ready to crush our eardrums.

Not only that, but they’ve also announced new tour dates next month. 

Here’s the latest update from Donald Tardy: “We have been busting our asses in the studio, having a blast and writing new material. Twelve songs are done and ready to be recorded but we want a monster album for our fans so we are working on a few more to make this record huge.

FLOTSAM AND JETSAM And HIRAX's Metal Apocalypse European Tour Canceled

Jeff Keller Management LLC, the management company for FLOTSAM AND JETSAM and HIRAX, has announced that due to circumstances beyond the bands' and management’s control, the Metal Apocalypse European tour that was scheduled to feature both artists has been canceled.

Says Jeff Keller: "Unfortunately, it was in both bands' best interest to not continue with the tour at this time. We apologize to the fans for this unfortunate circumstance, and I can assure the fans that both bands will be in Europe in 2014 for other touring and festival appearances."

FLOTSAM AND JETSAM recently returned to Metal Blade Records to release their new album, Ugly Noise. Ugly Noise is FLOTSAM AND JETSAM's eleventh full-length album, their first release on Metal Blade since 2001 and the follow-up to their 2010 album, The Cold.

HIRAX will release its new album, Immortal Legacy, on October 22 (six days later in Europe) via SPV / Steamhammer. It will be made available as a CD, gatefold colored LP and a digital download. Philip Lawvere, the artist behind such classic album covers as KREATOR's Pleasure To Kill and CELTIC FROST's Emperor's Return, has designed the Immortal Legacy cover.

CARACH ANGREN recently thrilled with Where The Corpses Sink Forever (2012).

DESCENDING
DESCENDING are hailing right from the heart of Greece – Athens! Founded in 2007, these guys indulge in modern death and thrash metal with melodic hooks guaranteed to get you addicted! After the release of their new opus magnum New Death Celebrity early 2013 and a planned tour with Greek comrades SEPTICFLESH, shooting stars DESCENDING will make an appearance at the EXTREMEFEST!

MALIGNANT TUMOUR
Czech act MALIGNANT TUMOUR was one of the first bands in their home country to belch out extreme sounds in the early 90s. The raw songwriting of their early years has now evolved to balls-out “Dirty Metallic Crust’n’Roll” – an infectious and groovy mixture! The brand new MALIGNANT TUMOUR album Overdose And Overdrive will be released early 2013.

VIBRION
VIBRION can proudly claim to be one of the first death metal acts ever to emerge from Argentina! Quite a while ago these guys relocated to Belgium though to indulge in their hefty brand of raw death and thrash metal. In 2012, the old school brigade unearthed the exhaustive box set The Contagion Decade – and now it’s time for their return on stage (and to the studio)!

KADAVERFICKER
KADAVERFICKER means CORPSEFUCKER – quite the subtle band name, right? These Germans have been dealing in death metal and grindcore since the early `90s, or as the band likes to call it: “Nekrokore”! Obviously their lyrics are more in the “City Of The Living Dead” vein than “Pretty Woman”, and after a long hiatus KADAVERFICKER finally returned in 2012 with Exploitation Nekronation!
