KREATOR's Dying Alive DVD Cracks German Top 10

Dying Alive, the new new concert DVD / Blu-ray from German / Finnish thrash metal veterans KREATOR, has entered the German Media Control chart at position No. 9.

Commented KREATOR mainman Mille Petrozza: "I've never expected Dying Alive to crack the Top Ten in Germany! This just shows again that you, our fans, are THE BEST! Thank you for your support! Let me close this with an Ozzy statement: I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!"

Dying Alive was released on August 30 via Nuclear Blast. The set features the band's sold-out homecoming show in Oberhausen, Germany on December 22, 2012 after an extensive 45-day European tour in support of KREATOR's Phantom Antichrist album. The packed and sweat-driven show was filmed by 24 cameras, as well as guitar and even mosh-pit cams.

The DVD/Blu-ray contains footage of the Oberhausen concert, a behind-the-scenes documentary as well as video clips. Approximate total running time: 115 minutes.

GOTHIC INDUSTRIAL PARTY Verlässt Zeche Carl In Essen

Die GOTHIC INDUSTRIAL PARTY (G.I.P.) verlässt im 19. Jahr ihres Bestehens ihren bisher einzigen Veranstaltungsort: die Zeche Carl in Essen.

Dazu die Veranstalter: “Über ein Jahr wurde nun unser Veranstaltungsort saniert. Die G.I.P. als Marke ist geblieben, unabhängig davon, ob die Tanzfläche im Bauschutt lag. Wir haben in dieser Zeit viel über unsere eigenen Werte und Wurzeln nachgedacht, die Musikstile analysiert und die Dancefloors konzeptionell entkernt.

Unser Fazit: es ist unser Anliegen, für alle Besucher/innen einen Floor zu haben. Genau so, wie die G.I.P. auch entstanden ist. 

Am 2. Februar 2013 zelebrieren wir dieses Lebensgefühl das letzte Mal in der Kaue der Essener Zeche Carl. Dann führt uns der Weg weiter nach Oberhausen in die Räume des Kulttempel.”

MYSTERIA Metalkneipe In Recklinghausen Schließt Ende März

Die Inhaber der MYSTERIA Metalkneipe in Recklinghausen überraschten gestern Metalfans und -bands der Region mit einer höchst bedauerlichen Tatsache: der Schließung dieser Institution Ende März diesen Jahres.

Ob für das Feierabendbier, den gepflegten Vollabschuß am Wochenende oder für zahlreiche Shows von u.a. Diabolic Danceclub, Despise & Conquer, Sabiendas, Final Depravity und The Very End - das Mysteria war über mehr als ein Jahrzehnt unabhängig vom Standort innerhalb Recklinghausens der Anlaufpunkt für Freunde der Rhythmen, bei denen wir alle nicht nur mit müssen, sondern in erster Linie mit wollen.

An Mine und Matthias (stellvertretend für das gesamte Mysteria Team): persönlich und im Namen von FA’s The Very End und Final Depravity einfach nur herzlichen Dank und alles Gute!! \m/

“Time to say goodbye – the end of an era!

So Leute, auch die schönste Zeit geht mal zu Ende. Deshalb müssen wir euch heute leider bekannt geben, dass wir nach 13 Jahren, in denen das Mysteria zu einem riesigen Teil unseres Lebens geworden ist, definitiv am 23.3.2013 unsere Tür zum letzten Mal in Recklinghausen für euch öffnen werden.

Wir danken euch ALLEN für die tolle gemeinsame Zeit, 2 Umzüge, 3 Locations, etliche Konzerte und coole Partys. Natürlich allen Metal Heads, die den Weg zu uns gefunden haben, die wir über die Jahre haben kommen UND gehen sehen und allen, die uns tatsächlich über die volle Distanz die Treue gehalten haben!

Uns ist klar geworden, dass der Metal nicht tot (zu kriegen) ist und dass es sich lohnt, gegen alle Widerstände anzukämpfen um dem Metal weiter zu dienen. 13 Jahre Metalkneipe (generell und besonders in RE), das schafft nicht jeder - und darauf sind wir auch ordentlich stolz!

In den 2 Monaten, die uns noch bleiben, wird es an jedem Wochenende eine Menge Specials geben. Am 16.2. werden wir auf jeden Fall noch unseren 13ten Geburtstag mit einer großartigen Unplugged-Liveshow von Crossplane feiern.

Am 23.3. wird es dann DIE Abschlußparty überhaupt geben!

Also nutzt die wenigen Chancen, die euch bleiben, um mit uns zu rocken. Genießt unsere verbleibenden 10 Wochenenden, um nochmals alles zu geben!

Man soll ja niemals „NIE“ sagen und wer weiß, ob man sich nicht doch nochmal wieder sieht und wenn ja, wo, unter welchem Namen und mit welchem Konzept das dann sein wird…

German Ruhr Area thrashers FINAL DEPRAVITY check in with a year-end update and present their new logo:

“Friends & companions, we don’t want to let you enter 2013 without sharing a brief year-end update and latest mission reports with you guys.

2012 was the 5th year of Final Depravity since the very beginnings on December 21, 2007 and once more, change was the formula.

Tristan Maiwurm left us in January 2012 to concentrate on studying drums in the Netherlands.

Our one and only candidate was Jerome Reil from Essen-Karnap - first rehearsals with our new drummer began early February. For those familiar with his last name, Jerome is the son of Kreator drummer Jürgen “Ventor” Reil.

Recordings for the second album Thrash Is Just The Beginning started in July and we’re currently recording final vocal parts and some clean guitars. Mixing will be finished mid January, and Dennis Koehne (Sodom, Exumer, The Very End) is totally entitled to give the album the ultimate punch at mastering then.

We would have preferred to let you hear new thrashing tracks now to commemorate this occasion, but we’re not quite ready to do so yet.

Instead, we proudly present the new Final Depravity logo before this year ends! So many changes had to be expressed by something as new as the band itself, and our own Jerome Reil has designed and drawn this mean bastard of a band logo!

All of us here at FD HQ wish you and your families a safe trip over to 2013, we’re gonna keep preparing some Thrash Metal for you to kick off January the right way.

Die Kreativwirtschaft an der Ruhr hat Klasse! 

Kreative Klasse e.V. in Essen gegründet – Festival im September 

Die Kreativ-Schaffenden aus Essen und dem Ruhrgebiet haben sich zusammengeschlossen und einen Verein mit dem Namen Kreative Klasse e.V. gegründet. Zu den Gründungsmitgliedern zählen lokal ansässige Freischaffende und Firmen aus den Bereichen Architektur, Design, Kommunikation, Kunst und Kultur sowie weitere Essener Kreativ-Akteure. Zweck der Initiative ist die engere Vernetzung untereinander sowie eine Stärkung des Kreativgebietes Ruhr.

Die erste Vorsitzende des neu gegründeten Vereins ist Judith Haselroth, die in der Rüttenscheider Annastraße das Designkaufhaus „Wohngemeinschaft“ betreibt: „Die Region hat großes kreatives Potenzial. Das haben nicht zuletzt auch die Aktivitäten rund um Ruhr.2010 gezeigt. Wir wollen diese Potenzial auch nach dem Kulturhauptstadtjahr weiter fördern, ausbauen und eine Lobby für die Kreativ-Schaffenden aus der Region sein.“

Vom 17. bis 25. September soll auch in diesem Jahr wieder ein Festival der Kreativwirtschaft in Essen stattfinden. Nach der Vereinsgründung Anfang Mai gilt es nun, viele Firmen, Freiberufler und Kulturschaffende dafür zu begeistern, ihre Arbeit im September der Öffentlichkeit zu präsentieren. Bereits im Juli können sich die Teilnahmewilligen bei einem ersten Vortreffen kennenlernen und – falls gewünscht - auch Kooperationen vereinbaren. Denn die Kreative Klasse 2011 setzt in diesem Jahr verstärkt auf Branchen- und Städte-übergreifende Zusammenarbeit.  

Die Veranstaltung im Herbst wird aber beileibe nicht die einzige Aktivität des Vereins darstellen. Bereits im Juni wird in Zusammenarbeit mit der Industrie- und Handelskammer Essen (IHK) ein Kurz-Seminar zu Rechtsthemen in der Kreativwirtschaft angeboten. Ein weiteres zum Thema Firmenevents und -präsentation ist in Planung.
